BLUE RIVER CHANNEL, Kansas City, MO - FY16 $0 Construction

STATUS 

FY14 $ addresses channel deficiencies, maintenance access, and required environmental impact mitigation completing the 1970 authorized federal flood control project.

Celebration planned September 2015.             

Local sponsor continues to seek additional benefits though EPA’s Urban Waters Initiative and other local efforts.                

BENEFIT OF PROJECT

Completed project will lower 100-year flood levels approximately 6 to 8 feet to protect 4,100 businesses employing 66,100 people, and many residential neighborhoods.
